Huanggai Village is located at the west-northern of Jiaxiang Town, totally 90 thousand people. It is the largest village in the northern Jiangxiang Town, Have more than 0.2 million units of plantation and abundant natural resources. It makes the village get the advantaged predominance in the stock raising. In recent years, Huanggai village adjusted the structure of crop, breed, and byproduct industry in time. This good policy made our villagers had more and more treasures; development of new village extended. We are called as The First Village of Scalper And Small Tailed Han Sheep in west Shandong Province by the State Department.
Huanggai villagers had the customs of breeding the cattle and sheep dispersedly. But the scale was really small in old days. The government of the village according to the recent posture set up the Village Association of cattle and sheep breeding. It contains a large-scale breeding plant, Hybridization station, Breeding academe, Village cattle and sheep trade station. They supply service to each others, restrict each others, assort with each other, to achieve real intensive breeding, supply and sales incorporate mode. This mode let the villagers have no worry on sales of the cattle and sheep. Now each family breeds 6-7 cattle and 8-15 sheep. All breed, hybridization and bearing are guided by the Breeding Academe. And the Village cattle and sheep trade station is responsible for the sales.
The large-scale breeding plant was managed by the Village Association of cattle and sheep breeding. We have 170 staff now. Among them, 26 people have the title of the stockman and 67 people who graduated from the college and the technical secondary school. We have over 15000 scalper of western Shandong province, Limousin, Simmental and other varietals of cattle; over 20000 boll goats and more than 26000 Small Tailed Han Sheep in west Shandong Province. The village academe directs the Hybridization station to complete the hybridization of animals. It also set up the files and tracks the work. The trade station is responsible for the sales work of the large-scale plant and all the dispersed stock farmers in the village. There are many persons specially assigned for purchasing, distributing, quarantining, delivering goods and tracking service, etc. Our good reputation guarantees the sales of 5.6 million cattle and 13 million sheep in 2004. We also got the supports and regards from lots of people and companies in the same field. Finally we received the bumper not only in economic benefit but also in social benefit.
