晚上好！
在奥运会开幕式的第二天，我们欢迎大家来到“长城脚下公社”。
昨晚奥运会开幕式的震撼还留在我们记忆中。我一直在问自己是什么力量把大家心被震动了？不是简单的声像，不是节目本身，也不是要有多少枚金牌。有一种比金子和金牌更重的力量。是爱、是美、是团结、是和平。这些力量像光一样，紧紧地吸引着我们，震撼着我们。
我们的先辈曾设想过未来的理想世界是大同世界，“地球只是一个国家，而人类便是这个国家的公民”，与当时残酷的现实相比，这种理想是多么的不可思议，是多么的遥不可及。而今天我们看到全世界人民，持不同政治见解的人们、不同宗教信仰的人们、不同肤色、不同种族的人们、讲着不同语言的人们同聚在一起，亲如一家、爱如一家。
“同一个世界，同一个梦想”大同世界的精神把我们大家紧紧连在一起。
“放下你们的武器吧……让人性能得以重放光芒！”，成为奥运会上最有力的呼吁。中国有句古话：“覆巢之下，焉有完卵？”。我们大家紧紧的联系在一起，谁也离不开谁。如同同一巢穴中的小鸟。
今晚我们相聚在“长城脚下公社”。长城，当年的军事设施，今天已经成为了和平、友谊的象征和见证。
今晚大家为爱和友谊而来，我们在这里分享爱和友谊。
任何的痛苦、孤独和不幸遇到爱和友谊，就像黑暗遇到了阳光，一定会消失的无影无踪。
愿每个朋友每天都生活在爱中！
愿每个朋友时刻都生活在爱带来的快乐中！

Good evening and welcome.
On this, the second day of the Olympic Games, we welcome you all to our Commune by the Great Wall.
Last night＇s Olympic Opening Ceremony moved us all deeply, and I have been thinking about why.
It was not the impact of the imagery, or the power of the music. Not the spectacle itself, or the excitement of the gold medals. For there is, of course, a power greater than gold. This is the power of love, of beauty, of unity, of peace. This power, like a radiant light, attracts us and dazzles our senses.
Great teachers of the past taught that in the future the world must be a unified one, that "the earth is but one country and mankind its citizens". Compared to the cruel realities of those past days, how unbelievable that vision must have seemed? How far from the grasp of our forefathers? Yet now, here today, we see all the peoples of the world, people of different political and religious views, different skin colours, different ethnicities and speaking different languages, coming together as one family, and learning to care for each other as one family.
One World, One Dream. The spirit of the unified world brought us together.
"Letthem lay down their weapons . . . so that humanity can lay claim to gold even before the Games begin." has become the clarion call of the Olympics. There is a saying in Chinese: "Under the broken nest, can there be unbroken eggs?" Our lives have become so intertwined in today＇s shrinking world, that none of us can exist without each other. We are like small chicks huddled together in one nest.
Tonight we come together at the Commune by the Great Wall. This Great Wall that was built as a military fortification, and today is a symbol of and evidence for peace and friendship.
We have come together tonight out of love and friendship, to share these blessings. When hardship, loneliness or misfortune meet love and friendship they are dispelled. Like darkness meeting light, it disappears without trace.
We hope that you all experience love every day of your life.
We hope that experiencing this love brings you happiness every moment of every day.
